Momentum and Fundraising
Why We're Asking for Your Support Today
Every university has a founding story. Ours starts with a shortage.
Across the country, healthcare systems are short-staffed in exactly the roles that keep patients cared for day to day: physical therapists, occupational therapists, physician assistants, and the wider allied health workforce that hospitals and clinics depend on to function. The pipeline that's supposed to fill those roles is too slow, too expensive, and too rigid to keep up.
Landmark University of Health Sciences (LUHS) exists to fix that. And today, we're asking you to help us build it.
What Your Support Actually Builds
LUHS isn't a concept anymore. We're incorporated as a nonprofit, our curriculum is built, and we're moving through the state approval process required of every new university before it can enroll its first student. That's real, tangible progress — but it doesn't fund itself.
Every dollar raised goes toward the concrete work of opening our doors:
Accreditation and state approval— the review processes, documentation, and institutional infrastructure required before we can legally enroll students.
Curriculum and faculty development— building out programs like our Bachelor of Science in Applied Health Science with the rigor patient care demands.
Keeping tuition low— our entire model is built around graduating students without decades of debt attached. That only works if the university itself isn't debt-financed either.
This isn't fundraising for its own sake. It's fundraising for a specific, visible goal: a functioning university that can start training the workforce our region needs.
Why It's Structured the Way It Is
We built more than one way to give, on purpose:
Direct givingfunds the institutional work — accreditation, curriculum, infrastructure — that doesn't come with a product attached but is the backbone of everything else.
Our swag storegives supporters a tangible way to participate. Every dollar of profit goes straight back into the same fundraising effort, so a t-shirt or a mug isn't just merchandise — it's a small, visible stake in the university getting built.
Sharing and spreading the wordcosts nothing and matters more than people usually assume. Most of the people who will eventually give, partner with us, or enroll as students haven't heard of LUHS yet.
Momentum Matters
Momentum matters. It signals to funders, partners, and future students that this isn't a slow, quiet build — it's an institution with real support behind it, right from the start.
We're not asking anyone to fund an idea. We're asking people to help finish something that's already underway.
How to Help
Give— every contribution moves us further along the path to opening our doors. (The initial goal is $1.5 million.)
Shop— visit the swag store; 100% of profit goes directly to the mission.
Share— tell someone who cares about healthcare, education, or workforce development in our region.
Thank you for being part of this from the beginning. This is the kind of thing that only gets built with a lot of people deciding, individually, that it's worth supporting — and today, we're hoping you're one of them.
