About the Founder

Cody Thompson, EdD, PT, DPT

Founding President - Landmark University of Health Sciences

Dr. Cody Thompson serves as Founder and President of Landmark University of Health Sciences (LUHS), a nonprofit institution established to address critical shortages in the allied health workforce through accelerated, apprenticeship-style, hybrid, innovative and low-debt education.

Dr. Thompson holds a Doctor of Education (EdD), a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT), is a Certified Health and Wellness Coach, a Certified Hybrid Instructor, and a Certified Level 1 Ergonomics Expert. His professional background spans clinical practice in physical therapy, healthcare workforce development, and academic administration, providing a multidisciplinary foundation for the university's approach to health sciences education.

His research contributions include a systematic review examining student loan debt across the health professions and scholarship on apprenticeship-based models of physical therapy education. This body of work informs LUHS's institutional commitment to reducing educational debt burdens and expanding accessible pathways into the allied health professions.

In addition to his role at LUHS, Dr. Thompson is the author of scholarship and publications addressing career transition and professional identity within clinical fields.
